Superb 19th century French oil on canvas of a lady with chignon. The painting is signed and mounted in a quality wooden gilt frame of the period. Both painting and frame are in good condition for their age. There is an invisible restoration and the painting has been relined.

The artist has used a soft palette and is obviously a painter of some quality given the detail and technique.
