Govaerts was a painter, watercolourist and engraver who trained at the Academy of Brussels. He excelled in seascapes but also painted landscapes.
He preferred to paint the Belgian coast, but also favoured the Fagnes and Ardennes regions which inspired his most beautiful landscapes. Some works are exhibited at the Museums of Ixelles, Brussels, Mons, Ostend, etc. He is Listed in various art books.
