View Of A Road - Antique oil Painting

Let 19th/early 20th century Impressionist landscape showing a a road and canal running past a group of houses in the evening. The painting is signed by the French artist Robert-Léon Salle - known as Salles who was born on 17 May 17 1871 in Lisieux and died on 21 November 1929 in Paris. The oil and canvas is mounted in a more recent frame. There are a couple of exhibition labels on the reverse.
Robert-Léon Salle is the son of Louis Léon Salle, merchant tailor, and Méduline Albertine Guillaume. He was a student of François Flameng and Fernand Cormon , Sallès exhibited at the Salon from 1898 then competed the following year for the Prix de Rome . He became a member of the Society of French Artists . He has won numerous awards.
