View of an Estuary- Antique Oil Painting

Impressionist oil on canvas by the listed artist A Keller.  The painting shows an view of an esturary on a summers day and is mounted in a stunning gilt frame of the period.

Keller (1880 - 1968) was a student of P. Braeke and Henri Ottevaere at the Academy of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode and then student of the Academy of Brussels (1897).  He then spent some time in Provence and St Tropez.
In 1939, he settled in the Rouge-Cloître where he painted the Soignes forest . He is sensitive to light similar to the Brabant impressionists . Also president of the Alfred Bastien circle and friend of Paul Delvaux .

He is known for his landscapes, woods, still lifes, genre paintings, flowers but his international fame came to him from his superb landscapes.

His works can be found in almost every museum in the world.

Auderghem dedicated a street to him on September 28, 1934 .
