Rue des Fontenelles specialises in French antiques with an emphasis on antique european art, sculpture and ceramics. The business was founded in South West France by Caroline Parish nearly twenty years ago in a stunning 18th century Maison Borgeoise at 1 Rue des Fontenelles.
 
Having lived in France for some time and undertaking two major house restorations whilst there, Caroline developed a passion for French antiques, interior design and art.  It's amazing what you learn working on old buildings and it's those finishing touches - furniture, art and small details -  that create the atmosphere in each room and bring a house to life. Since returning to Devon, Caroline has finished two more projects, including a 16th century Devon Longhouse,  a 17th century cottage and a 15th century Devon Longhouse where both Caroline and her husband, Luke live.

 
Rue des Fontenelles is now based online and continues to stock a selection of quality antique european oil paintings, watercolours, prints and ceramics.  We also have a small selection of decorative objects including sculpture and our famous ceramic guinea fowl.  Most of our art is from the 19th and early 20th Century - including a selection of impressionist and post impressionist paintings. All of our art and antiques are displayed on our website and on Selling Antiques.
 
 Caroline is also happy to visit your home and offer practical interiors advice if you are unsure about what will work.  Having restored several houses over the years - carrying a lot of the work herself - she has a practical common sense led approach to the finished product and an eye for detail. We also can assist with house clearance and work closely with a reputable auctioneer to ensure you get the best service and price for your items.
 
All of the items on the website are available to purchase, but. Rue des Fontenelles offers a full delivery service for antiques and larger paintings - using professional transporters.  International delivery can also be arranged. Art and smaller items can be posted.  We accept several forms of payment, bank transfer and Paypal.
