Parian Bust of Queen Victoria - 19th Century

19th century parian (porcelain) bust of Queen Victoria published by Minton and sculpted by Marochetti (1805 - 1865). The statue is inscribed on three sides - see photos.

The original marble sculptures from which this Parian bust were copied were made by the Italian sculptor Carlo Marochetti (1805-1867) - Minton maker and were shown at the Royal Academy in 1851. These Parian versions were shown by Minton at the London International Exhibition of 1862, at which an entire section was devoted to 'Parian and Ivory'. The original pair of busts of Victoria and Albert are in the V and A Museum.
