Signed oil on canvas by Belgium artist Ernest Betigny.  The painting shows a fishing boat in a harbour and is mounted in its original gilt, wooden frame.  

Betigny was born in Schaarbeek in 1873, died in Brussels in 1960 (Belgium).  He studied at the Academies of Brussels and Schaarbeek and painted interiors, still lifes, but mostly landscapes near Grimbergen (he lived in Grimbergen until 1947. Betigny took classes together with great painters such as L. Herreman, A. Markelbach and E. Blanc-Garin. He is mentioned in Arto and Piron.

The painting dates from the early 20th century.
