Gilles Capton is a French artist whose atelier (studio) is based at Orleans. He is reknown for his painting of bulls and cows, but has painted other subjects including more recently a study of Percheron horses.
He is described by Eric Besnard as persistant, conformist and a New Artist of the Renaissance. He is influenced by the old masters for their ideals and beauty. He also looks at the history of rural life and how we as humans have been influenced by these animals over the years.
Gilles Capton has exhibited in exhibitions and galleries across France.
