Stunning French Empire flame mahogany commode with its original black marble top. The commode has a beautiful deep rich patina and its original escutcheon plates snd handles. There is a detailed bronze panel on the top draw with two griffins and floral detail. The escutcheon plates feature swans with curved necks an the handles have pretty floral detail.
The top drawer is divided and has a hidden opener. Both the marble and commode are in excellent condition for its age. There are three other useful drawers giving good storage. The piece dates from the early nineteenth century - circa 1810 - 1820
