Heathland - Antique Oil Painting

Signed oil on panel showing a view of heathland by the Belguim artis Leon Jamin  1872 - 1944.  The painting has a beautiful tonal quality and is also inscribed on the rear 'Solitude.

Jamin was a post-impressionist painter of the landscapes of the Campine and the Ardennes . Student at the Liège Academy ( Évariste Carpentier , Adrien de Witte ), he worked alongside Carpentier en Campine. He often travelled to Spain and Provence and exhibited in the1920s and 1930s in exhibitions in Brussels and Liège
His works are exhibited mainly at the Museum of Walloon Art in Liège.

The prices of his paintings vary between 200 and 2,000 euros with records up to 10,000 euros (France-2003).
