Pair Of Chestnut Horses - Antique Oil Painting

Pair of oil on canvas of two chestnut horses in stables, signed by the Belgium artist Alexandre Clarys -(1857 - 1920). The paintings are both signed and dated 1910 and mounted in super mahogany frame with a gilt slip.
Alexandre Clarys studied under Ernest Blanc-Garin (1843-1916) at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels. He specialized in animal painting, particularly horses and dogs, showing them working or in their natural habitat. Among his patrons was King Albert I, who commissioned the artist to paint his horse Montjoie. He also designed posters for horse racing and other sporting and agricultural events.

Declaration : This item is antique. The date of manufacture has been declared as 1910.
