Pair of French Impressionist Landscapes - French School

Attractive pair of French landscapes signed by Nicolas Safronoff - Lyonnaise School.

The paintings show two different views of L'Ile Barbe, which is situated in the middle of the Soane in the 9th arrondissement of Lyon. Interestingly, in 1734 the architect Cotton constructed a wooden bridge which provided access to the Island. In 1827 it was replaced by a suspension bridge (shown in one of the paintings) and it is now the oldest bridge in Lyon still in service.

Nicolas Safronoff participated in the Salon d'Automne de Lyon in 1950.

Both paintings are oil on wooden panel are in good condition and mounted it attractive wooden gilded frames.
