View Of A Lake - Antique Watercolour

Watercolour of a view of a lake with cattle grazing beyond by the Belgium artist Maurice Hagemans. The painting is mounted in a pretty gilt frame. The painting is signed on the front and rear and is under glass.
Hagemans was born in 1852 in Liège - died in 1917 in Ixelles. He was Belgian impressionist painter and watercolorist. He exhibited for the first time in Brussels in 1875. From 1887, Maurice Hagemans became a member of the Société des Aquarellistes Belges. He was the co-founder a year earlier of L'Art Indépendant. He had a successful career and in 1892, King Leopold II places an order for four panels for the Chateau d'Ardenne. Works at the Museums of Namur, Ostend, Brussels, Antwerp, Liège and the Royal Museum of Beaux Arts in Belgium. He is well catalogued at auction.
