Village View - Belgium School

Superb vibrant oil on canvas showing a view of a canal running through a village.
Executed in 1935 the painting is attributed on the rear of the painting to Maurice de Meyer (1911-1999). The painting is mounted n a super quality wooden moulded frame and is in a good original state.

Maurice de Meyer was a Belgium painter, engraver and designer. He was known for his cityscapes, landscapes and seascapes and paintings of children. A pupil of Alfred Bastien and Henry Logelain at the Acadamy of Fine Arts in Brussels. He is listed in Benezit, Arto and Piron amongst others.
